On the 5th of December 2018 we hosted our inaugral Society of the Year Awards 2018 at the Rumpus Rooms in central London. It was a day of celebration and recognition for university societies around the country that have made a difference on campus.
4 societies won £1000 of sponsorship and support from 1 of our amazing partner firms. After applying with a trailer telling us why they should win one of our firm sponsored awards, societies were shortlisted. There were 4 categories made up of 3 societies who came to our awards lunch to present why they should be winners.
We began by welcoming everyone to the venue and seating the students and firms. After we had established what the day was about and how it was going to work, it was time for the student societies to begin presenting why they should be winners of their category. After seeing their videos exec members of societies spoke about their achievements to date.
Throughout the day we paused for starters, mains and desserts allowing some breathers for the Bright Network team, firms and students alike. It was a fantastic time where indivuduals were able to network, share their stories and take in the brilliance of the venue.
In the end our winners were announced by the wonderful firm representatives. However, everyone present was able to learn and discover the great things happening across UK.

The Bright Network Society of the Year- won by The York Finance Conference, who won our partnership support for their annual Finance Conference this year.
In the end our winners were announced by the wonderful firm representatives. However, everyone present was able to learn and discover the great things happening across UK universities. We hope next year is just as successful and that everyone enjoyed the day.
