Thames Valley Air Ambulance

We are a charity providing emergency medical services by air and land to patients within the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Our paramedics, doctors and pilots are highly trained and ready for any eventuality. We work together as a team, giving you the best chance when the worst happens.

Thanks to your support, our iconic helicopter is now backed up by critical care response vehicles, allowing us to reach even more people.

Alongside our helicopter, the Critical Care Response cars allows us to attend multiple incidents at the same time, if needed deploy more than one crew to an incident, and particularly in more built-up urban towns and cities get to incidents more quickly by positioning the cars around the counties that we cover.

Our doctors and paramedics receive specialist training to enable them to operate from our helicopter as well as driving the Critical Care Response cars as part of the specialised course they attend upon joining Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Alongside this, our doctors and paramedics receive advanced pre-hospital emergency medicine training making them ready for any eventuality and giving our patients the best chance when the worst happens.

Last year, 2018-19, saw a massive increase in the number of incidents and patients we attended, thanks to growing the number of paramedics and doctors that we work with, as well as by getting more of our Critical Car Response cars on the road.

Serving a community of over 2 million people, while not receiving any funding from the government or the National Lottery, there is also a dedicated office team in place.

These teams work to raise the funds Thames Valley Air Ambulance needs to operate, are others are involved with ensuring that we comply with the laws that as a charity and health care provider we are regulated by.
