Bright Network has teamed up with Santander Corporate and Investment Banking (SCIB) to provide 35 members who identify as female with an opportunity to visit the SCIB office. Successful applicants will have the chance to gain valuable insights into the firm’s inclusive and supportive culture, learn about the firm’s different business areas, hear from senior female figures, and have their application fast-tracked through the initial screening stage.  

This event has been tailored to inspire 35 of our brightest female-identifying members from diverse backgrounds to feel confident and empowered starting out on a career in corporate and investment banking.

Sarah is Managing Director and Head of Cash Management for Santander Corporate & Investment Banking in the UK. Possessing 24 years of banking & finance experience, Sarah joined Santander in July 2022, having previously spent time at J.P.Morgan, BNY Mellon, HSBC and Citi. Her professional experience spans Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, Securitisations and Fund Services.

Outside of the office, Sarah is a mother of two boys aged 22 and 16, and is a keen boxer and kickboxer (2022 UK Champion in San Shou Kuan).

Alex is the Head of Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (“SCIB”) UK and Branch Manager of Banco Santander S.A. London Branch, a position she has held since January 2023. She originally joined Santander in November 2018 as Global Head of Financial Institutions coverage within SCIB, before being appointed Deputy Head of SCIB UK in April 2022.

13th October, 11am – 4pm 

  • 11:00 – 11:30am: Arrival and registration (teas and coffees available) 
  • 11:30 – 12:00pm: Welcome and keynote from Sarah Foster, Managing Director, Global Transaction Banking 
  • 12:00 – 1:00pm: Business areas discovery session 
  • 1:00 – 2:00pm: Meet recent graduates, lunch provided by SCIB and networking roundtables 
  • 2:00 – 2:45pm: Skills session  
  • 2:45 – 3:45pm: Culture and D&I panel  
  • 3:45 –  4:00pm: Wrap up and next steps 

Please note: by applying for the event, you are committing to attending the event in full.  

Who can attend? 

  • Undergraduate students who identify as female 

  • Including but not limited to those studying STEM, business, economics and social sciences  

  • Graduating in 2024 or 2025 

  • On track for a 2.1 or above and have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their education 

  • Not already in an application process for a SCIB role 

Travel details: 

The event will take place at the SCIB offices - 2 Triton Square, Regents Place, London, NW1 3AN.  

For travel to the event, SCIB will support expenses up to a maximum amount. More details will be shared if you are successful in gaining a place.
