Matt Tomlinson:
Matt Tomlinson is Dean of ULaw’s Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle campuses. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Bath and former corporate solicitor.
Matt works closely with firms, both national and regional, as well as in-house and local authority legal teams, supporting their training requirements and advising on their transition to the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE). With extensive market insight, Matt offers a wealth of knowledge to students looking to pursue a career in law. Matt is passionate about widening access to the legal profession and inspiring the next generation of legal professionals by showcasing the diverse range of exciting opportunities emerging in law.
Caroline Carter:
Caroline Carter is the Dean at the University of Law’s Post-Graduate campus at Moorgate. Caroline joined in April 2021 and brings 30 years’ experience in the City as a solicitor and partner in international law firm Ashurst, where she was Head of UK and European Employment, Incentives and Pensions Practice as well as holding a number of management roles. Caroline has extensive experience as a tutor and lecturer most recently at Queen Mary University of London. She is an independent Council member on the board of Cranfield University where she chairs the remuneration committee and is a trustee and director on the board of The Brilliant Club, an organisation committed to widening access in higher education in the UK. Caroline also sits on the advisory board of AccessEd, aninternational educational mentoring programme and is a governor of an all-girls non-selective state school in London.
Larissa Hope:
Larissa Hope is the Campus Manager at ULaw’s Newcastle campus, which launched in September 2021 in partnership with Newcastle University. Larissa took her first steps into law at Newcastle University, and brings with her a diverse legal career pathway: training and qualifying as an employment lawyer at Magic Circle law firm Allen & Overy, practising in-house at the BBC, and recruiting and developing trainee talent at international law firm Latham & Watkins. With a passion for developing early talent, Larissa is delighted to have the opportunity to support aspiring legal professionals taking their first steps into practice.
