2H Offshore are looking to add a Graduate Engineer to their expanding team in Aberdeen. The Graduate Engineer will have an interest in Structural Design and Engineering. The Graduate Engineer's work will initially involve system design, structural and dynamic analysis of offshore structures and systems, with wider exposure to fabrication, installation and integrity management.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Perform design activities including calculations, dynamic structural analysis and system configuration for a variety of subsea, platform and renewable energy structuresResponsible for ensuring acceptable structural and fatigue performance of the designs, whilst considering the functional, fabrication, installation and in-service requirements
  • Communication of technical results and conclusions to other members of the team and clients through meetings, presentations and written reports
  • Preparation of proposals
  • Utilise a number of state-of-the-art commercial and in-house software packages, from specialist global analysis tools such as Flexcom, Orcaflex and SACS, to general-purpose finite element analysis and design tools such as Ansys and Solidworks
  • Work independently and within teams, supported by and working closely with stakeholders; to develop strong technical relationships with our clients; and to actively contribute to continuous development of 2H's engineering capabilities and reputation
  • Opportunities to progress rapidly into leading small teams and project managing scopes of work

Requirements

  • Minimum 2.1 Master's Degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, structural, offshore, hydrodynamic, renewable etc.), mathematics, physics, or similar
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability and enthusiasm to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
  • Ability to work independently; strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Previous experience with industry-standard software is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms, with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail
