Who are we looking for?

There is no Addleshaw Goddard type. We are looking for authentic personalities who are aspiring, confident and committed to becoming great lawyers.

We want people who want to learn alongside the best in the profession, bringing their energy and passion to our team and our clients.

Second year law students and above or final year non-law students and above with a 2.1 (whether predicted or obtained) are eligible to apply.

Training contract

We offer a wide range of seats within these practice groups across our offices. Your two-year training contract will cover four six-month seats in:

  • Corporate & Commercial
  • Disputes
  • Finance & Projects
  • Real Estate

You'll receive training that's tailored to your needs and interests while gaining a first-hand insight into life at one of the UK's most respected law firms. You will be supported by some of our brightest minds and challenged with meaningful work, helping you develop the connections and skills you need to become a trusted lawyer.

Route to qualification

The introduction of the SQE has meant that there is more flexibility around the way trainees can qualify as solicitors and we are now able to offer more than one route to qualification. There are two routes available: the traditional training contract route and the graduate solicitor apprenticeship (GSA) route. If your application is successful, you would need to choose one option. The attached document provides information in relation to each route.

Both the GSA and traditional training contract routes are available to those who are either still studying their undergraduate degree, those who have graduated and those who have completed or are yet to complete the PGDL/law conversion course. The information in the attached document will help you to determine which route you would prefer to take, if applicable.

For those of you who have completed or are currently studying the LPC/SQE, please note that you will be completing the traditional training contract route and therefore the information on GSA is not relevant to you.

Other information

Please note that we accept one application per intake year. If you have already applied for our 2024 Placement Scheme/2026 Training Contract you are unfortunately not eligible to apply for a 2026 Training Contract. Please note that you can also only apply for one location so please ensure you have decided where you would like to be based before applying.

Applications will be open from Monday 1st April 2024 and will close on Wednesday 31st July 2024.
