    Affinity Water are looking for an Operations Scientist to join our Asset Directorate.

    The role

    This role is to ensure the continuous supply of wholesome drinking water for the benefit of our communities. We do this through our subject matter experts, delivering our regulatory requirements, water quality operations, audit and fittings inspection programmes to ensure that we annually achieve the best possible water quality results.

    In this role you will participate on the Operations Scientist Standby roster, covering all disciplines across the whole Company area for water quality advice where availability is required 24 hours a day for 7 days.

    Requirements

    • A recognised science degree, higher national certificate or equivalent qualification ideally in chemistry or biology or any other associated science.
    • A good understanding of drinking water regulation and water quality standards
    • A background in the water industry and an understanding of how investment plans are developed
    • An understanding of Asset Management and a commitment to undertake a qualification in this field, such as IAM certification.
    • Skills to develop a high-quality stakeholder management and engagement plan to communicate effectively.
    • Practiced at risk management to identify, quantify, control and monitor significant business risk.
