    What you will be doing

    You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be a Digital Test Design Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following;

    • You will engineer highly advanced test systems, built to validate and test telecommunication flight-standard products within Airbus Defence and Space. Specifically, this will involve working on projects with a mixture of system, software and hardware engineering for our world-leading digital signal processor (DSP) equipment
    • Create, architect, design, commission and build test systems for complex digital electronic assemblies with a healthy mixture of design and hands-on work
    • Use software languages and tools to develop a test and validation environment (Python, C/C++, JIRA), working with novel telecommunications products at various stages of development.
    • You will be part of a team solving complex electronics engineering problems within PCBs, FPGAs, ASICs, RF communications, high-speed digital links and come to understand the manufacturing and test challenges.
    • There are opportunities for regular UK travel and also to work within our clean-room production facilities where you can get “up-close and personal” to our flight products!

    What we look for

    To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate;

    • Educated to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study
    • Maximum of three years relevant work experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
    • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation
    • The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.

    What you will need to apply

    Degree type:

    • Electrical & Electronic engineering (2.1 or above) or a closely related discipline

    Specific experience or interests:

    • A keen interest in a mixture of software and electronic engineering, coupled with demonstrable “problem-solving” skills.
    • Someone who is curious, logical and methodical - all key attributes in this role!
    • Software development experience applied to a tangible or “real-world” environment
    • An interest in digital electronics involving high speed PCBs and FPGA/ASIC technology
