About the role

On this fast-paced Placement within our buying teams you will be working in the Chill and Frozen departments where we are responsible for tirelessly driving innovation, best quality, full availability and ultimately the best value to Aldi’s ever expanding customer base. We buy hundreds of products from across Britain, Europe and as far afield as China to ensure the Aldi customer has access to great products and low prices. This is an exciting opportunity in one of Britain’s fastest growing retailers and one that will no doubt challenge your abilities and be extremely rewarding.

You will be responsible for projects across different teams within your category which will test your adaptability and organisational skills to collate, digest and present back your findings to effect changes across nearly 1000 stores. A broad experience across our buying department is a perfect opportunity to fully understand the buying process and provide you the tools to embark on a career after graduation.

No buying experience is required but strong interpersonal, listening, written and oral communication skills are a must as you navigate speaking to both internal and external stakeholders to drive the business forward. Strong organisation and attention to detail are also required to ensure efficient and quick decision making.

What you'll need

Please note that our Placement Programmes are for university students currently studying towards an undergraduate degree, who are seeking a 12-month sandwich placement before their final year of study.

You’ll need to be working towards a 2:1 degree, have 96 UCAS points from your top 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications), possess a driving licence and have the right to work in the UK.
