    Position scope

    Reporting to process manager, the successful candidate will undertake a Process Engineer graduate training program.

    Position strategic objectives and key deliverables

    The initial purpose of the Process Graduate position is to learn about and obtain a broad experience of the refining process and our business generally. Very quickly, the Process Graduate position will then be required to contribute a high level of energy to the execution and continuous improvement of the refining process, based on their learning and experiences. Success in this role is based upon being able to demonstrate clear value to the business by executing against key objectives.

    Detailed roles & responsibilities

    Technical

    • Obtain a full understanding of key safety, health and environmental hazards in each are of the process and know how they are managed
    • Understand the use of chemicals and associated hazards
    • Understand the important parts of the refinery start up and shut down procedures
    • Understand the key process parameters, limits and controls
    • Draw process flow diagrams of all main pipes and the key process control loops and understand how each of the stage is controlled (flow, temperature, pressure, quality etc.)
    • Complete a mass and energy balance for the process area
    • Identify improvements that can be made to the process to improve output or energy efficiency
    • Learn how to operate the plant to a sufficient level (be able to run the area with minimal intervention from the operator)
    • Obtain a good understanding of the packaging operations

    Management

    • Complete 20 shifts on crew, covering the Shift Manager’s position

    Essential work experiences

    • Experience of working in a Manufacturing or Production environment preferable

    Essential education requirements

    • Educated to degree standard with relevant degree pass in Chemical and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
