Astroscale UK is looking for interns to support our ground segment team in our upcoming test campaign.

This is a great opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to gain hands on experience working on an industry mission, and work toward our upcoming launch. You will be working as a part of the Ground Segment Test team, and interfacing with Ground Segment Systems and Software teams.

This will be a 6 month fixed term contract, based from our Harwell office (hybrid working).

Responsibilities

  • Perform verification & validation of the systems with other team members while ensuring requirements are met, including systems tests and simulation campaigns.
  • Creates and configures test environments,
  • Analyses test results and follows issues,
  • Works closely with operation, software and ground segment systems teams
  • Gathers requirements and contributes to the Verification Control Document
  • Interface with the development team internally at Astroscale

About you

Essential skills

  • University degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or other relevant engineering discipline, either completed or in progress.
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Proactive attitude to work, and ability to cooperate within a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Python (or any other computer language) programming
  • Good reporting skills, for documentation, keeping track of changes, and other duties
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Desirable skills

  • Exposure to test specifications definition
  • Experience with integration, verification and validation of ground segments
