    Qualification requirements

    As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Software Development / Electronic Engineering or a related subject.  

    What you’ll be doing

    Graduate Air Software Engineer

    • Creating cutting edge software for our platforms and be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from concept, design, and development through to delivery and maintenance in service. 
    • Contributing to addressing the engineering issues on a programme and to encompass requirements capture/evaluation, systems and software design, software implementation, software unit and integration testing, qualification, and certification as well as defect investigation and resolution.
    • Delivering software solutions for highly complex, real-time systems and software platforms.  
    • Articulate a strong understanding of multiple software development lifecycles and how those lifecycles are to be use in safety critical environment.

    Graduate Naval Ships Software Engineer

    You’ll take responsibility for creating cutting edge software for our hardware and be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from design and development to integration. You’ll work closely with both Electronic and Systems engineers, enabling the development of complex real-world systems.

    • Producing software architectures and designs based on each ship’s requirements.
    • Implementation of requirements and design utilising a variety of programming languages and tools.
    • Designing and development of software tests to prove several qualities including functionality, robustness, performance.
    • Testing and integration of software and target hardware.
    • Supporting of lifecycle and product maturity activities such as design reviews.

    Graduate Maritime Services Software Engineer

    As a Software Engineering Graduate within our Radar Team, you will create cutting edge software for our hardware and be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from design and development to integration.

    • Producing and maintaining a software design to meet a set of software requirements.
    • Using a software design to produce a deliverable software solution.
    • Testing a software solution to prove that is meets its design aims and requirements.
    • Support a software solution to address reported defects and/or add new functionality.
    • Developing and maintaining a good working knowledge of Maritime Services software processes.

    Graduate Digital Intelligence Software Engineer

    You will work primarily in Java / Javascript / Angular / React however we use a range of other languages like C# and .NET.  

    Tasks could include:

    • Assisting in the design, test and implementation of software which forms part of a properly engineered system
    • Producing high quality code as part of a development team, undertaking pair programming and code reviews.
    • Overcoming development obstacles to deliver quality code on time
    • Helping to elaborate and refine requirements / designs.
    • Understanding and translating business design into a logical design, for a simple software application
    • Assisting in producing detailed designs and documents using required standards, methods and tools
