BBC InfoSec is a specialist team within BBC Technology Group that helps keep BBC information secure. The team advises on best practice, deals with threats and manages potential cyber-attacks across the BBC globally.
What you’ll do
You will study for a MSc in Digital and Technology Solutions.
Gain a deeper understanding of cyber security, including its concepts, technologies and practices.
Help us to keep the BBC safe and secure, by working alongside our other InfoSec Specialists, Managers and Architects to deliver ground-breaking cyber security solutions.
You will also contribute to deliver effective financial management, control and advisory support for the Divisional team working closely with senior management to help ensure high quality financial decisions are made.
Who we’re looking for
You are able to demonstrate degree-level knowledge of cyber security principles and technology and can apply cyber security principles in practice.
You are a logical thinker with natural problem solving skills who is able to work on your own and stay motivated. You are positive and able to apply yourself while being a good communicator and enjoy working with people at all levels. Prepared to juggle work and study while working well under pressure. - Be aged 18 or over when the course starts in September 2023
- Have graduated with a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, Mathematics with Computer Science, Physics with Computer Science or a related discipline. Applicants must normally have achieved 2:1 or above in relevant cyber security modules.
- We will consider any past-Apprentices who have already completed the Level 3 AAT or CICM Apprenticeship Qualifications.
- Have maths and English GCSEs or Standard (Scotland) at 9-4 (A-C) or equivalent
- Be legally allowed to work in the UK
- Have lived in the UK, Ireland or the European Economic Area (EEA), for at least three years before the start of the apprenticeship. Or have either pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and lived in the UK, EEA or Gibraltar for at least three years
Don’t worry if you don’t have an extensive CV. You can share examples of your passion for cyber security from anywhere. That might be other work experience, your time in education or volunteering.
