The maxim of Sir Henry Royce, ‘take the best that exists and make it better’, permeates in everything we do at Rolls-Royce. As a student, you will have hands on experience from day one, gaining practical insights into the corporate operations of a world-class automotive manufacturer

Key Accountabilities include

  • Taking on individual projects to develop bespoke features
  • Undertaking research on various concepts, materials, production technologies, and automotive legislation relevant to the scope of the features developed
  • Estimating costs required to support the design and validation of the bespoke features
  • Creating Requirements Specifications to support the quotation process used with external suppliers
  • Conducting Risk Analysis and creating DFMEAs to support the maturation of concept design
  • Identifying the testing required to validate a bespoke feature using internal standards and Design of Experiments where required.
  • Creating/Analysing 3D CAD Models and 2D drawings in preparation for release
  • Supporting planning of critical development meetings with wider stakeholders across the group
  • Supporting the Lead Engineer by developing innovative tracking methods/systems
  • Engaging in continuous improvement with both ideas and implemented solutions across the scope of the department

Qualification

  • Degree in progress for Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or suitable equivalent
  • Experience in an New Product Development environment would be advantageous
