Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world. Three UK plants have had a part to play in MINI production – Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint, and final assembly.

Painted Body Future Vehicle Projects Support

Required to support an exciting time for Plants Oxford & Swindon, there is an opportunity for a motivated student to join the Painted Body Project organisation in a role supporting the planning of our future production system.

The Painted Body organisation is responsible for manufacturing activities across all buildings in both Plants, an exciting combination of advanced technical automation and individuals skilled in their craft make it the perfect department for a committed intern to learn whilst contributing toward meaningful projects.

What will you be doing?

  • Attending design reviews, influencing the design of our equipment & processes.
  • Administering meetings - cross functional status updates & information cascades through levels of the business.
  • Problem solving - working with internal & external partners to resolve issues, both daily business & complex.
  • Analysis - investigating data and topics related to Products, processes, planning & project finances.

Qualifications and experience

  • The successful candidate should be working toward a degree level qualification in Engineering or another suitable Technical qualification.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • Previous experience working within a leadership role within a project/team.
  • An interest in practical engineering applications would be desirable.
  • A full UK driving license would be advantageous but is not essential.
