The Role
The successful candidate will work for the duration of their internship, within the Boeing Global Services Programme Management team based in Surrey, U.K.
The Programme Management team manage the post-delivery modification of aircraft for our Customers. The projects we typically manage involve the integration of new equipment into the aircraft, such as seating, IFE equipment and monuments (galleys, lavatories and stowages). We frequently manage multiple stakeholders providing equipment and services to the Customer. Working together with the Engineering, Airworthiness and logistics teams you will manage the execution of the project within the schedule and budgetary constraints agreed.
This role will offer experience working within an aerospace Programme Management environment.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a senior Programme Manager during interactions with worldwide airline customers
- Assist senior Programme Managers to manage the project delivery schedule, meeting quality standards, and financial controls from project award to final delivery
- Learn how to identify and manage program risks, issues and opportunities to protect or improve the program performance. Assist with gathering information and administering records
- Coordinate internal activities to ensure all tasks are progressing in line with the program requirements
- Participate in major milestone meetings with customers (ITCM, PDR, CDR, FAI) and assist to compile resulting minutes and action plans
- Assist with the preparation of weekly status updates, milestone schedules and risk analysis summaries
- Learn about and assist with the communication of program status, on-going financial viability and identification of key issues
- Assist with the management of Customer change requests and support proposals for schedule and cost related impact
- Initiate invoicing of project payments and follow-up on payment as required
- Support the creation of proposals, as required, in response to customer RFPs
