The Underwriting Governance team provides challenge and oversight over the underwriting control framework and is responsible for managing the day-to-day technical underwriting governance activities of the Canopius Group business, and ensuring that the Underwriting Governance Framework is adequately embedded and adhered to.

The Underwriting Governance Analyst role is an integral part of our team, they will work alongside other Underwriting Governance Analysts and report into the Underwriting Governance Manager, who in turn reports into the Head of Underwriting Governance.
As an Underwriting Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for the oversight and ongoing development of the underwriting control framework for Canopius, working closely with other areas of the business, specifically focussing on our data and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
Your workload will be varied, including tasks covering:
- Support the collation, development and publishing of KPIs to support the Underwriting Governance processes
- Support the creation of test approaches and work closely with the Testing function to ensure end user acceptance
- Management of own task list and appropriate prioritisation within overall team, department and company requirements
- Support the gathering and documentation of business requirements and data sources for use in operational and analytical solutions
- Collaborate with other business teams to understand data requirements and provides technical input to data solutions and data delivery processes
- Summarise and present findings in visual, easy to understand formats to facilitate decisions from key stakeholders
- Representing the underwriting governance function at various internal and external meetings
- Acting as advisor to internal teams regarding underwriting governance matters
Qualifications and experience
- Responsible professional with a positive, communicative “can do” attitude
- Ability to manage time, manage projects and prioritise workload
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Knowledge of best practices in data quality analysis
- Good communication and presentation skills and be an excellent cross-functional team player. Candidate will be working with stakeholders at all levels of the business and all business functions, and therefore will need to have stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of low code system configuration would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Insurance Market would be beneficial
