    What you’ll be doing

    Our 9-week Summer Internship places you right at the heart of life as a finance professional in a global organisation.

    Our finance team provide financial control, performance analysis, critical insight, and decision support across all our business units. You can expect your accountabilities to include:

    Proactively working on independent projects, as well as providing support to your team to deliver their goals. Building relationships across the finance teams and wider business, to promote collaboration and to aid the delivery of efficient work.

    Your internship could take place within a group finance role, or within a finance team of one of our business units. Some examples of the role that interns experience are:

    • Business Finance
    • Business Partnering
    • Financial Control
    • Finance Systems
    • Investor Relations
    • Internal Audit
    • Treasury
    • Taxation

    You will be provided with an unparalleled level of support with access to buddies and experienced line managers, as well as having a ready-made network of graduates across the business to tap into. In addition, you’ll develop and practice your skills in a safe learning environment, including Presenting with Impact to understand how to capture your audience with confidence. You’ll also get the opportunity to participate in a Charity Challenge, a great way to understand how we make a big difference at Centrica through charity partnerships and volunteering initiatives.

    The programme will take a lot of hard work and initiative on your part. In return, you’ll get to develop career-boosting skills and could earn yourself a place on our Finance Graduate programme if you really stand out from the crowd.

    We have a few must-haves

    • On track for a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Masters)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
    • Have the right to work in the UK
    • Available to start the programme and be fully available from 18th June – Friday 16th August 2024 (2 days holiday entitlement)
    • Ready to start your graduate career October 2025

    Here’s what’s in it for you

    You’ll be paid a salary of £21,000 (pro rata) and accommodation will be provided for the duration of your placement, if required.

    You’ll spend the first week of your placement in our Windsor office to complete your induction and return for the last week of your placement to share the skills and great work you will have achieved while on your placement.
