Your role

Our Business Process Excellence team based in Ashby de la Zouch has an exciting opportunity for a university student looking for their third-year industry placement, to join the team and support with contract review and analysis for new and existing customers to ensure key trends are identified along with any cost saving opportunities.

What are you going to do?

Reporting into the Business Excellence Manager, you will work on a variety of customer contracts, identifying any gaps or discrepancies between the services we provide to our customers and the services we have contractually agreed to provide. Through data analysis, you will identify opportunities to increase contract profitability, compare pricing and rates to look for revenue leakages, and ensure a return on investment for the business.

You will collaborate with a range of local and regional colleagues, where you will support in improving and cementing supplier partnerships, customer experiences, and team cooperation, therefore you must be a confident communicator who is able to form strong working relationships.

You will continuously identify and promote improvements across Contract Logistics sites providing recommendations in re-engineering and improving on existing operational solutions, driving, and enforcing standards and actively promoting a culture of LEAN, continuous improvement, vigilance, and responsible logistics.

What are we looking for?

We are ideally looking for someone who has the ability to read, analyse and digest large amounts of information and data in order to produce meaningful solutions and recommendations.

You will need to be analytically minded with exceptional attention to detail, strong grammatical and linguistic skills, and have a liking for numbers and data. As you will be required to pull together presentations and deliver them to key stakeholders across the business, you’ll need strong skills in Microsoft (excel, PowerPoint, word) and be confident presenting to varying audiences.

Finally, you will be required to travel to sites across the UK and sometime within the European/Global teams, therefore you will need to hold a Driving License with your own car and be happy to travel internationally for business trips.

It would also be advantageous, though not essential, to have someone with LEAN or Six Sigma training who is knowledgeable on continuous improvement techniques.
