Our industrial placement is a 12-month immersive program based in London and designed to give computer science students real-world experience in a Cyber Security role and exposure to areas including: Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR), Cyber Threat Analysis (CTA), Incident Management (IM) and Managed Services (MS).
About the placement
You will join CFC Response, our award-winning cyber security and incident response team. With more than two decades of experience, our global team of cyber security engineers, incident responders and forensic specialists successfully prevents and remediates thousands of cyber events for our customers each year.
What to expect
You'll work in our London office and be fully integrated into life as a full time CFC'er. You will work on four rotations of three months across different specialist CFC Response teams:
- The DFIR team are set-up to investigate the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of an incident, assisting the client in understanding the scope of compromise and potential impact.
- The CTA team’s primary responsibility is to reduce cyber risk for our policyholders, by first detecting and then helping remediate known vulnerabilities.
- The IM team triage the incident to understand the big picture, enabling and co-ordinating all of the resources required to support the incident to final closure.
- The MS team conduct monitoring, detection, threat hunting and initial response for clients both proactively and during a cyber incident.
Along the way you'll develop your technical skills and experience, learning from our high-performance teams who are experts in their field and tackle cyber threats day-in-day-out. You'll also receive an introduction to the insurance industry, develop your stakeholder management skills and be exposed to some of the latest and greatest technology and techniques. When does it start?
The 2023 program will run from July 2023 - July 2024.
Is it paid?
Yes! You will be paid an annual salary and get staff benefits.
