The role

The position is based in London, supporting the Executive Director of BrokerTec Products, and the BrokerTec Global Business Manager & teams. The role will require a significant amount of initiative and creativity whilst offering the opportunity to learn more about BrokerTec, repo and cash businesses. The various BrokerTec teams explore new business opportunities and help executives communicate their development plans both internally and externally to clients of BrokerTec. Moreover, this role requires an individual who enjoys working in a close-knit team and is excited for new challenges in a dynamic and inclusive environment. Principle Accountabilities:

The primary focus of this placement is assisting the running of BrokerTec Markets (repo central limit order book), the BrokerTec Quote (D2C RFQ platform) and EGB business lines:

  • Interns will be expected to take initiative, participating in cross-product teams whilst also work independently
  • Assist the BrokerTec teams on day-to-day activities in functioning of the platforms
  • Assist in market research for strategic initiatives
  • Gather and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external sources
  • Contribute to on-going projects, providing analytical, high quality work
  • Attend meetings with internal stakeholders to understand wider impacts of initiatives
  • Preparing relevant content for stakeholders
  • Liaising with various internal departments such as legal & compliance, CSET, GCC, EASE and external interested parties
  • Customer focus and ensuring 1st class customer experience
  • Contributing creative ideas to platform and product solutions across the various asset classes

The individual

The successful individual will thrive in a highly diverse role and is willing and enthusiastic to participate in a wide variety of tasks required of them in order to help grow and support the business. The individual must have excellent communication skills, and be proficient using all Microsoft office / Google applications.

Preferably the candidate will:

  • Be studying for degree and anticipated 2:1
  • Have a strong interest in financial markets and technology
  • Have familiarity in the BrokerTec Business and wider CME Group
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research skills and work ethic
