    About the role

    Due to internal progression, an exciting opportunity has arisen at our Head Office in Gosport for Scientist within our Sterility department.

    The successful candidate will undertake the following duties:

    • To ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the method/s supplied, in a manner to obtain accurate results and to inform the Laboratory Manager or General Manager of any circumstances arising that may jeopardise the integrity of such results.
    • To keep the Laboratory Manager or General Manager informed concerning the status of work, including situations which may lead to potential delays.
    • To undertake routine and technical procedures, project work and/or clerical duties unsupervised documenting work in compliance with company procedures, including: Preparing samples and consumables for testing, assist with method suitability procedures, perform environmental monitoring of the facility, operate the autoclaves and depyrogenation oven, good house keeping tasks.
    • To work in compliance with GLP, GMP and the general and Health and Safety policies and procedures of Wickham Micro Quality System.
    • Undertake work as directed by their Laboratory Manager or General Manager including cross-training between areas of work as far as reasonably practicable

    The must haves

    • A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and Science.

    Essential skills

    • Previous laboratory experience is desirable but in no way essential as full training will be provided.
    • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures within a similar setting.
    • Logical thinking with the ability to effectively troubleshoot.

    Desirable skills

    • Familiar with GMP/GLP.
    • Comfortable working with and handling microorganisms.
    • Familiar with gowning techniques.
    • Bachelors degree in science or related STEM subject
    • Previous experience working in a laboratory environment

    • An enthusiasm for continued professional development.
    • Able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others within the team and across other departments.
    • Adaptable and accomplished in managing your workload in order to meet deadlines.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accurate data recording.
    • Willingness to use your initiative to overcome challenges and bring fresh ideas to the table.
