The opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for two students to join us for a year-in-industry placement starting in September 2024.

This placement will last for one year, and you will be working alongside our market intelligence and content and research teams. You will gain first-hand experience of research, analysis, and report writing, as well as working on podcasts and training webinars. You will get a thorough insight into what affects Great Britain’s energy market as it transitions towards net zero and also work with our international colleagues.

You will be responsible for writing various reports and collaborating with members of the team to provide our customers with the highest quality insight on the energy market, which will help them make informed business decisions. You may even find that the work you do during this placement will support your dissertation choices once you return to university.

The location

Our head office is based in Norwich where most of our team are based. Working in that office, you will get to work alongside a range of experts who will help you develop the skills you will need as you start your working career.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of the energy industry through research, regular reporting, webinars and knowledge sharing meetings
  • Support and assist the market intelligence departments in producing regular reports, delivering outputs to a high standard on time
  • Take a proactive approach to report management and building knowledge
  • Feedback information to customers through email, webinars and phone calls
  • Approach the hybrid-working environment in a professional manner

Skills, knowledge and expertise

  • Interest in the energy industry
  • Good IT skills, especially using Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and inquisitive mindset
  • Currently Studying for a Bachelor's degree with a placement year
