Marketing Communications Placement Student

We are looking for a personable and professional marketing, public relations, or communications student to join our Marketing Communications team in Kent. During your Marketing Communications placement year with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Assist the Power Systems Business Unit (PSBU) Communications Team in partnership with your peers across the Power Generation or Marine and Oil & Gas markets, by working in close contact with external partners and internal stakeholders on a global scale.
  • Assist in the development, management, planning and scheduling of content for social media platforms.
  • Assist with the execution of external publication, customer stories, news, and press releases.
  • Create content and update external website and internal intranet sites.
  • Assist with the management of online and print advertising.
  • Assist in development and execution of events, including working with third party relationship management.
  • Assist with literature, presentation, and display material development.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Business Studies with marketing modules.
  • A motivated self-starter who will be able to engage with people across all levels of the business and be hungry to learn.
  • Proficient in writing, editing, and developing content and messaging. Strong visual communication skills, and a knowledge of common digital publishing concepts and platforms such as websites, social media, digital signage, and mobile apps.
  • Exposure to marketing measures from your course or project work– such as, ad impressions, media impressions, surveys, click-through, conversion, time spent on page, bounce-back etc.
