The D. E. Shaw group seeks motivated, intellectually curious students to join the firm’s Investor Relations (IR) team as interns in its London office. IR interns collaborate with a global team of investor relations professionals to learn about the firm’s investment strategies, products, and clients in a collegial and inclusive working environment. This is a ten-week program that is expected to run from June to August 2026.
What you’ll do day-to-day
You’ll take on projects that require rigorous analytical thinking and creative problem solving. You might help enhance various communication efforts, conduct prospect- and investor-focused research, participate in brainstorming sessions with colleagues, or attend meetings with investors.
Who we’re looking for
- Highly accomplished students with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and keen analytical skills.
- Individuals with excellent verbal and written communication skills, who excel at taking a structured approach to solving problems and driving projects forward, and have exceptional attention to detail.
- A client-focused approach is important, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Candidates curious to learn more about corporate strategy, capital markets, or the economy typically thrive in this role. Experience with consulting, venture capital, economic research, or product management/strategy through clubs or internships is a plus, but not required.
We welcome applicants currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program across all fields of study. No previous finance experience is necessary. Students in this program are usually approaching their final year of full-time study.
