DWF are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Police, Care and Justice team. The team provide expertise in niche areas of Litigation, Healthcare Advisory, Inquest and Public Inquiry representation.
You will be working within a team which involves a wide variety of work, representing both the public and private sector including numerous police forces, prisons, healthcare and education providers.
The role is hybrid, with travel required to our Manchester office at least 2 days per week with potential for national travel to attend court hearings and meetings.
Responsibilities
This will be a busy role which will require someone with good communication and prioritisation skills. There will be a mixed workload of both operational and legal tasks to support the wider team. Many of our cases are sensitive in nature and high profile. The team defend claims involving false imprisonment, assault, trespass to goods or person, personal injury, negligence as well as breach of data protection legislation, the Equality Act, Human Rights Act and Judicial Reviews.

Essential
- Excellent and strong Microsoft skills, particularly Excel
- Litigation experience or legal support experience is essential
- Strong organisation skills, prioritising tasks and supporting the wider team
- An ideal candidate for the role will demonstrate a real interest in the work
- Willing to under-take training, support and guidance from other team members
Desirable
- Strong communication skills as there will be a need to communicate across multiple teams and senior stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail
