With over 50 years of experience in the rail industry, we’ve delivered complex and challenging multidisciplinary projects all over the world. Our expertise extends to depots, operations, maintenance analytics and asset management across all aspects of rail, including transport, technical and sustainability assessments and systems infrastructure.

The role

We are now looking for a Rail Engineering Graduate to join us. You will be responsible for providing insight and technical engineering expertise on railway projects.

What you'll do

Major Projects We have a dedicated Major Projects team with extensive knowledge and experience in delivering highly complex and challenging multidisciplinary projects for major railway, urban and transit clients all over the world. Our expertise spans across the freight, high speed and commuter rail sectors and extends to multi-modal hubs, depots, stations, operations, maintenance and asset management. We have a focus on safety, project management, systems, integration, civil engineering and with a key focus on delivery sustainable solutions. In the UK alone, we have been involved in delivering over £600m of major project works since 2012.

The Rail Engineering Intern will support the Major Projects Team, activities could include:

  • Supporting in preparing Engineering documents for Major Projects
  • Setting up a System Integration methodology for Major Projects
  • Coordinating Track Design including Alignment Design and Track System Design
  • Using Digital techniques to improve Design methods
  • Managing a mini-project or an activity
  • Undertaking Engineering Design in line with Industry standards
  • Supporting in the integration of Design
  • Supporting in technical problem resolutions
  • Coordinating interfaces between disciplines
  • Ensuring some document registers are maintained up to date
  • Helping with other Engineering management tasks
  • To undertake such other duties as the organisation may reasonably require

If required as part of a university module, support will be provided to meet these requirements as appropriate. If you join our programme, you'll specialise in rail and other significant national infrastructure.

You will visit our current project locations observing various stages of the project lifecycle, meeting the teams whilst also getting to know the other functions that support the business, such as finance, HR, and business development.

You will receive intensive training so that you start to understand the railway in the UK, whilst also developing a personal development plan with your line manager.

About you

  • You Must Have The Right To Work In The UK
  • A Engineering Master's Degree
  • Very adept with IT including software packages applicable to Engineering e.g. Autocad

The assessment centre will be in July for a September start.
