Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Legal Cashier
- Ensuring day to day processing and reconciliation of both office and client funds is accurate, in line with business needs and in accordance with appropriate VAT, SAR and AML regulations
- Logging/reviewing incoming client funds, allocating to the relevant matter and obtaining appropriate documentation
- Inputting client payments and obtaining appropriate authorization and documentation in advance of deadlines
- Processing and reconciling of professional disbursements, to include payment in line with SRA Accounts Rules
- Monitoring of residual balances
- Interest calculations on funds held in client accounts
Financial Accounting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations
- Preparation of prepayments, accruals and journals
- Help with reviewing and maintaining the fixed asset register
- Preparation of quarterly & annual legal surveys and National Statistics reports
- Monitoring of VAT accounts to identify incorrectly posted transactions
Accounts Payable Requirements
- Entering vendor/supplier invoices into Emburse
- Accounts payable enquiries
- Assisting with any urgent manual payments for both Office and Client Account
- Responsible for the corporate credit card and the reconciliation

Educational Qualifications/Job Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 GCSEs, including 9 - 4 in Maths & English (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 A Levels (or equivalent)
Working Schedule
- As this is an apprenticeship, the role will be based on 80% working hours and 20% off the job learning time. The role will be a fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship.
