Our national civil and structural engineering business is led from Bristol, where our largest team is located, with established teams in Plymouth, Birmingham, Cardiff, Gloucester, London, Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester.

Overview of the role

You will be responsible for delivering technical support to the development of highway and general infrastructure projects. Working as part of a team within a growing multi-disciplinary consultancy, and operating across a variety of projects, you will undertake scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs and project coordination.

You will be expected to work in a design office environment but will also will play an active role in design and site meetings, site inspections and progress reporting. Good communication and effective liaison with clients, architects, contractors and regulatory/statutory authorities are therefore considered key attributes.

Requirements

  • Candidates with a BEng or higher technical qualification, or an HNC/HND with relevant knowledge gained in a design office environment are encouraged to apply
  • An ability to undertake and deliver section 278 and 38 highway agreement schemes is required
  • Excellent analysis and technical design skills in AutoCAD and PDS (or equivalent design software such as Civils 3D) are required
  • The candidate must have experience of applying highway standards and have a knowledge of signs and road marking, drainage and pavement design
