The Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is looking for talented, highly motivated university students to develop next generation video, imaging and vision solutions targeting far reaching Internet of Things applications, including interactive whiteboards, digital signage, smart factory and 8K Pro A/V systems.

As an FPGA design engineer you will be responsible for applying mathematical, software and design engineering skills to design and develop IP's and solutions as part of a system engineering team in the Intel PSG Europe HQ, located in Marlow and Basingstoke.
You will work in a rapid learning environment, alongside industry experts, who will support your daily development and knowledge growth. You will learn an Agile engineering development approach, frequently delivering high quality solutions to customers and communicating with your team daily to build innovative and creative products. Your opinions and thoughts are valued from day one.

Key responsibilities

  • Full development lifecycle of FPGA video, imaging and vision IP's and systems from conception, through specification to implementation, verification, review and release.
  • Development of SoC (CPU+FPGA) based system designs to demonstrate next generation video and analytics concepts
  • FPGA based Board Support Package development and optimization
  • Interactions with local and remote teams as well as customers.

Required skills

  • Strong FPGA or ASIC design skills, using Verilog/VHDL and related design flow
  • Good software skills (C/C++)
  • Thirst for learning and good self-starter
  • Loves working as part of a team, with great communication skills

Qualifications

This is a 13-month fixed-term placement suitable for students currently studying a degree course in relevant disciplines (e.g. Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Systems Engineering), and is targeted at 2nd year students enrolled in a 4 years bachelor's degree which includes a year in industry.
