ITV Technology is the key that unlocks our creativity, allowing us to make, distribute and monetise the best programmes in the UK and across the world. From the transformation of ITV’s internal systems to how the broadcaster makes programmes and delivers content to viewers, digital transformation and innovation is at the heart of our future at ITV.
This includes the launch of ITVX. A complete re-imagining of existing catch-up service ITV Hub, ITV’s new free streaming service ITVX will offer viewers a choice of over 9,000 hours of the freshest new series, documentaries, cult classics and blockbuster films.
ITV has over 650 talented people in Technology, Product and Data. ITV technology and product roles within Streaming have increased by 50% since 2020, to conceive, build and deliver ITVX later this year.
We are now looking for graduates to join our team on a unique 2 year opportunity, with a range of placements in leading technology disciplines across diverse teams. You’ll get the best training possible, on the job learning, individual projects and exposure across all areas of technology to ensure that you have a rounded foundation for a career in Technology. We enjoy what we do - innovating with technology, working with different teams, solving problems and constantly improving. If you have a passion for technology, media, and learning, then we would love to hear from you!
The role
Over 24 months, you will work closely with ITV technology departments including our award-winning streaming service, our broadcast and studios areas, and key functions that all companies need from cloud hosting to finance, networks and cybersecurity. You will be based in one of our three key technology sites - London, Leeds or Manchester but during the programme you will have the opportunity to work with teams across all of our sites. This is one of the most diverse technology graduate schemes in the industry and you will get wide exposure to a number of different roles and teams throughout your time with ITV.
All of our technology graduates have a similar structure in the first year; time working within each of the business areas, structured training in a development language (Scala, Java or front-end) and an extended placement with one of our software engineering teams. What makes our graduate programme at ITV unique, is that after that time, we work with each individual to put together a combination of placements, projects and learning that helps them to focus their development into a career specialism, and enables them to work towards a long term career at ITV. If you find that you have a passion for a particular area within technology, we’ll do our best to make sure you get to experience working in that area.
Expect to gain key skills in everything from software development, product and project management, video engineering, data science, cyber security, devops and cloud - all within an exciting creative media environment.
