We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking Registered Veterinary nurse to join our friendly team at Barton Lodge Vets to cover maternity leave starting in June 2024.

We have a low staff turn around with over half of the team having been working with us for 15 years plus. Working in a vet practice is a big part of our lives and we want to enjoy coming in to work and to feel appreciated by colleagues and clients.

Your duties will include theatre, inpatient care, lab, helping with the drug order, a wide range of nurse consultations including weight, anal glands and nail clips, PHC Wellness Checks, 2 nd vaccinations, reception duties and some administration tasks. We have a varied caseload, with no two days the same and we operate 15-minute vet appointments and 10 – 30-minute nurse appointments depending on what needs to be done.

This is a full time, fixed term role working 40 hours per week. The shifts are between 8:00am-7:00pm Monday to Friday (1 set rota'd weekday off per week). There will be 2 in 5 Saturday mornings 8:00am – 1:00pmpm (TOIL given per 2 x Saturdays worked - it is rota'd in as an extra weekday off every 5 weeks. There are no out of hours, Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Barton Lodge Veterinary Centre is part of the IVC group. We are situated in Hemel Hempstead (Hertfordshire), with lots of beautiful countryside around, as well as easy access to London and all major motorways and airports. Meet our team

We have a supportive and committed team of a total of 6 Vets some full-time and some part-time (equalling a 4.5 FTE). We also have 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Receptionists and 2 Administration staff. One of our part-time vets, also has a GP Cert (SAM).
