We are a small, friendly local first opinion practice, with a loyal client base, offering good quality but pragmatic care to the patients, but with an excellent work life balance. We are located in a village on the edge of Epping Forest and near the end of the Central line.
We have a fantastic, supportive team made up of 2.5 FTE Vets, 2 SVN and 3 FTE Veterinary Nurses. The whole team gets on really well and support each other.
We routinely use multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring. We have an ultrasound machine but also have access to a visiting peripatetic specialist who can also offer endoscopy. We can also access the guided ultrasound service at an associated hospital, where a vet can perform a scan, guided remotely by a specialist. We perform relatively high numbers od dental procedures and are excited to be getting our dental x-ray machine in spring 2024.
Step into a supportive start
Your normal hours of work are 41 hours per week, 4 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. You may also be required to participate in a weekend rota.
We are an experienced Vet team, and we are all really approachable. We have supported many new graduates over the years and feel we can offer a really good start for someone.
We hope we will find a colleague who wants to stay at the practice for a little while as we really value continuity of care and building up a good relationship with the clients, some of whom have been with the practice for many years. We are only on one site and do no OOH so there is no need for anyone to be sole charge, so help will always be available.
