Unlock your passions @ Struthers and Scott

We are a fantastic small animal, first opinion practice located in Doune. We are in a very attractive area surrounded by beautiful scenery, while still having easy access to Glasgow and Edinburgh with Stirling just along the road.

We are a very close team, with multiple members of staff who came as students and are still working here many years later.

Our team include6.5FTE Vets and 6FTE Nurses. We enjoy activities together outside of work, such as paddle boarding at Loch Lomond and we are signed up to do the Kilt Walk in August this year. We communicate well together, with Whatsapp group chats for social as well as vet specific ones to help each other out with cases as well as supporting out of hours as well as staff and clinical meetings. We openly discuss cases as a team.

We have a DR x-ray machine and ultrasound in a dedicated imaging suite, dental x-ray in a dedicated dental suite all in a purpose-built practice we moved into in 2019. Our other practice in Killearn (Jackson Vets) is also about to move into a modern purpose-built practice with similar facilities. We also run a pain clinic offering acupuncture as well as confidence clinics with 2 of our Nurses with strong interests in Behaviour, alongside one of our Vets who is currently doing a certificate in Behaviour. We have recently acquired a multi-parameter for anaesthetic monitoring.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm (9am-7pm when on call). You will also be required to participate in a weekend rota and an on call rota.

You will be allocated a mentor, although the entire team work closely together and enjoy discussing cases and sharing ideas. The CD is almost always contactable by phone as well as a successful SOS Whatsapp group. Our hope is to help the graduate become another valued member of the team and hopefully for them to want to stay long term too.
