Kernow Vets is a wonderful practice located in Cornwall which is a great place to be at any time of the year. Your playground is on your doorstep with opportunities to develop hobbies and sporting interest on the land or sea. An abundance of theatres and music venues/festivals. Good airport links from Newquay or Exeter as well as train links.

We have a strong history in providing the ideal environment for new graduates to thrive in which ever disciplines interest them and the support will be tailored to the individual.

We have a friendly, supportive and vibrant team of 25 FTE Vets and 30 FTE Nurses. Our team have a wide age range with a number of experienced Vets combined with a strong core of colleagues up to five years qualified. Our team socialise as team as well as with other local practices to provide the all-important work-life balance.

The role can be tailored to your interest with the practice carrying out Small Animal, Farm and Equine work from dedicated departments.
We have modern and very well-equipped practices with equipment including endoscopy, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, echocardiography, laser physiotherapy, acupuncture and orthopedics. Within the team, we have a certificate in Small Animal Surgery, a certificate in Dermatology, a certificate in Behaviour as well as two Vets working towards certificates in Emergency and Critical Care & Opthalmology.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition, you may also be required to participate in a weekend rota and/or an out of hour.

Individualized support in which ever discipline(s) you choose (SA, EQ, FA). Our graduates enjoy their work and the environment that is provided at Kernow with many further developing their careers with us. Further post-graduate development is positively encouraged and supported.
