Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6.30am. You will also be required to participate in a weekend 1 in 3 rota.

Our new graduate will be mentored and work alongside our experienced Veterinary Surgeons who hold over 20 years’ experience between them. We will ensure they have a settling in period and be supported by all the team from the minute they join us. They will initially shadow our reception team, Nursing team and then our Vet team while the find their feet in the Veterinary industry and get an understanding of how the practice operates. We will at the start hold weekly meetings to allow time for our graduate to discuss any concerns they may have. We will use this time to also discuss our graduate’s performance and skill sets and to set realistic goals for their career development. It is important to us that we do not rush this period and we try to tailor our plan to our graduate’s own pace and style of learning. Our graduate will be able shadowing their mentor and they will when ready be encouraged to take on their own caseload starting with basic consults such as booster vaccinations and health checks. As their skills advance and their confidence builds, we would encourage them to start taking on more complex cases. Surgical procedure will be performed initially by shadowing their mentor or another experience vet in our clinic within our spacious double operating room. We will work with our graduate during the completion of their RCVS PDP.
