Unlock your passions @ White Cross Vets, Wolverhampton

Here at White Cross Wolverhampton, we strive for clinical quality, ensuring cases are worked up. We collaborate to maximise what we can achieve and are keen to continue to learn. We have a focus on team morale with monthly wellbeing afternoons during which we enjoy many activities such as dance offs and pumpkin carving. We are a friendly and fun team and have a shared love for food. Overall, we have 3 vets (2FT, 1PT), 5 nurses (HVN, 2FT RVN, 2PT RVN), 1 SVN, as well as one imaging certificate holder.

Wolverhampton may not be as well-known as larger UK cities; it has a lot to offer. The Mander Centre and Wulfrun Shopping Centre are popular and there is a diverse dining scene. If you enjoy an evening of sport, the Molineux Stadium is home to the Wolverhampton Wonderer's and Wolverhampton Racecourse and Monmore Green Stadium Dog Races are also local. The Black Country Museum is fun to explore and the Shropshire Hills and Cannock Chase provide nearby places to escape into the countryside.

Our excellent facilities onsite including Digital x-ray, Dental x-ray, Ultrasound, Bear Hugger, Multiparameter and an Isolation ward.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, over 4 days a week. Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 7pm. You may also be required to participate in a weekend rota which will include working on Saturday mornings from 8.30 to 12.30, with time given back in lieu.

We are keen to tailor our support to an individual graduate but would ensure a gradual transition into life as a vet. You would have an assigned mentor who will work alongside you as you progress from managing routine consultations to more complicated cases. We will build in time to shadow surgeries until you feel competent and you can expect staggered consultations to allow you time to get used to what is required and get up to speed. Weekend cover would not start until it is mutually agreed with your mentor and initially you will have on call support.
