About the opportunities

The Graduate Transport Planners will join our Transport Planning and Mobility Solutions teams which are part of our Cities & Places business unit. As Cities and Places, we can create thriving places across different scales: from regions to cities, neighbourhoods to individual buildings, by offering an integrated design approach.

Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, designers, MEP & BIM specialists, surveyors, urban designers, project managers and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients both nationally and internationally.

Our Transport Planning and Mobility Solutions team skillsets cover the full remit of multi-modal transport planning from high level policy and strategy advice through transport modelling/appraisal to active travel, streets design, traffic engineering and junction design. We are interested in hearing from candidates who are keen to develop a rounded set of skills as well as those who have more specialised interests including but not limited to transformational placemaking, transport decarbonisation, traffic management solutions or mass transit schemes for example.

You will have the support of a mentor, our management team and experts to guide your progress. You will also be given the ability to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development, as well as room to grow your network and knowledge base to create innovative solutions.

We are looking for aspirational Graduate Transport Planners to come and join our teams in London, Winnersh, Chelmsford, Bristol, Exeter, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Here’s what you'll need

  • Be working towards a relevant Degree or Masters level qualification such as Geography, Planning, Economics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, Data/Computer Science, Civil or other Engineering.
  • An interest in transport planning/traffic engineering such as: Healthy Streets schemes, Active travel schemes, Mass transit schemes, Junction improvement schemes, Place-making schemes, Transport policy/strategy, Transport modelling/appraisal.
  • A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward.
  • Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
