A summer placement at JCB provides the opportunity to gain practical experience in an area of the business that is relevant and tailored towards you. You will typically complete one or two project based tasks during the summer placement. You could be designing and developing current or new product introduction in business units; research in our innovation centre or a more commercial focused placement to experience engineering from a different perspective.
What is a Business Summer Placement Scheme like?
Those projects form an integral part of the business and the function you will be in. On a Business summer placement you could be working with the Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, HR or Finance Teams.
It is an opportunity to work and develop your communication and team working skills and develop your network of dedicated engineering and business professionals.
As part of the placement, you may get an opportunity to engage in STEM activities, to engage and encourage younger students to consider their own careers within a relevant STEM field.
About you
Available for the summer placement period, starting mid-June to Sept 2024. Working towards a relevant Bachelor, or Master’s degree at university, and on course to achieve 2:1 or above. You will be in your 1st, 2nd or 3rd of university, with minimum of 1 further year to complete; Placements will be based within one of our UK sites, so you must be willing to travel and ideally you will have a full UK Driver’s License and own your own vehicle.

- You will be dedicated, passionate and willing to learn and have relevant university project or work experience.
- We are looking for candidates who have a ‘hands on’ approach and be passionate about JCB, a “can-do” attitude, a drive to succeed and passionate about JCB
- You will have an opportunity to put in to practice the skills you have studied so far, and apply them to the real world environment, working on real engineering projects.
