We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Commercial Graduate, this is a new programme which is designed to give you the foundations for a future career in the commercial side of JDR Cable Systems (JDR). You will be working within the pre-order teams such as Sales and Tendering, where you will have the opportunity to learn and experience all elements of this area.

We are seeking a driven, open minded and dynamic graduate candidate to gain a detailed understanding of how the front end of our business works. You will join our development training programme, where you will be required to deal with a large range of stakeholders across the business at all levels as you embark on a career within the energy industry.

Job requirements

What are we looking for from you? Ideally you should have an engineering degree, so you will have an understanding of what we engineer and manufacture, you will have the ambition to drive forward a career in this area. You will be keen to learn and hold an appetite for new challenges as you work your way through numerous departments at JDR. We are looking for individuals who have excellent communications skills, who are comfortable working as part as a team, as well as at times under your own initiative. With strong IT skills, you will be adept at writing business reports and have the ability to understand complex information. You should have a flexible approach and be keen to acquire the knowledge and skills to drive you towards future career opportunities in tendering, sales, technical sales and business development.

Our goal is to support the delivery of the energy system shift needed for governments and society to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. We are on an exciting journey of expansion which will more than treble our current production output which is needed to underpin the rapidly growing offshore renewable energy sector.

Operating a hybrid working approach, you will be required to work a minimum of three days a week in the office, these roles can be based at anyone of our UK locations; Hartlepool, Newcastle or Littleport and the other two days a week from home if you wish.
