Role Overview
This is a key role working within the Group Data & Analytics team. We are seeking a Graduate Data Scientist who will support our global business with multidimensional problems solving across different sectors. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and great technical understanding of statistics, machine learning and coding.
Key Deliverables and Accountabilities
- You will join as a key contributor within the group's Data Science and Analysis function, responsible for working across the group, discovering solutions hidden in large data sets, delivering high-impact custom algorithms, and working with the Data Science team to develop the capability further.
- Responsible for championing Data Science, AI, and Intelligent Automation around the organisation.
- Responsible for developing accurate, purposeful, validated models, as well as developing processes and tools to monitor and analyse model performance and data accuracy.
- Responsible for being ethical and fair when it comes to building and maintaining algorithms and models.
- Identifying opportunities to improve consistency in data for greater predictability
- Designing large-scale experimentations on data across business silos to harness the value in linked data and determining predictive power
- Contributing to the Data Science and Advanced Analytics backlog for the company and ensuring its adequacy with the global IT backlog and portfolio
- Fostering a culture of learning and value drivers in data science and advanced analytics
- Creating adequate KPIs and metrics to evaluate methods and solutions
- Keeping informed of latest methods and technologies in statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence and articulating suitability to use cases
- Proposing a reliable approach to data sampling, model training, re-training and quality assurance of the advanced analytics pipeline
- Improving data wrangling and preparation to increase efficiencies
- Looking at opportunities to move advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms into production environment, highlighting dependencies, scalability options and limitations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering

- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- A degree course with a clear route to professional accreditation
- Your degree classification should be 2:2 or higher
- Entry degrees will be listed within each of our graduate vacancies and differ from role to role
