    As an Undergraduate joining our Engineering & Programmes function you will become part of a team helping define, develop and launch the next generation of high performance electrified Lotus sports cars as well as 3rd party projects.

    The role

    During your 12 month placement you will helping make a real difference to our business whilst developing commercial, core and technical skills, plus learning about the Automotive Industry.

    Successful candidates will have the opportunity to join one of the following divisions:

    1. Product Engineering – working as part of a team to design and deliver technical solutions in either Body, Trim & CAE, Propulsion & Chassis, Electrical & Software or Vehicle Engineering.

    2. Programmes – supporting the overall management of our vehicle programmes, working x-functionally with all key stakeholders to define and deliver against the programme timeline.

    3. Attributes – support the definition and evaluation of product attributes on all future products to ensure they live up to the Lotus brand DNA remains alive.

    4. Engineering Operations – helping oversee and manage the delivery of new products from Engineering into Manufacturing.

    5. Lotus Engineering – building and managing relationships with 3rd party clients to sell Lotus skills, knowledge and technology.

    During the assessment process candidates will be asked for their preferences of which division to join and the business will look to accommodate preferences where possible.

    Please be aware, we offer Undergraduate placements at our Hethel and Wellesbourne sites however regular domestic and potential international travel will be required.

    The programme is only open to penultimate-year students (those who will be returning to their final year of study after their placement).

    • Develop a deep understanding of Lotus operations and area functions responsibilities

    • Accelerate career development and technical knowledge
    • Develop an understanding of the culture at Lotus and understand the product DNA
    • Develop strong working relationships with functional mentors and rotation managers
    • Maintaining effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create a sense of community amongst teams at all levels and departments within Lotus.
    • To work in a fast-paced environment with an output focussed mindset
    • Demonstrate the ability to critically review work streams and provide improvement ideas and solutions.

    Knowledge Rerquired

    • On track to achieve a degrees within; Aeronautical, Computer Science, Control Systems, Electrical, Mechanical Mechatronics, Motorsport, Robotics Software, Systems Engineering, User experience design (UX) and Vehicle Engineering (Essential)
    • Industry experience, coursework, or project delivery within degree fields listed above (Desirable)
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (Essential)
