    The role

    At the heart of HR is the award winning Early Legal Careers team consisting of five people in London. For this role we are looking for a student who is seeking a year in industry placement. The role is part of a team who are responsible for attracting, recruiting and developing the Early Legal Careers population at Macfarlanes. 

    It is an exciting and fast paced opportunity and we want someone who is eager to learn and able to prioritise tasks. The successful person will focus on supporting the whole lifecycle of attracting and recruiting talent for our London office. 

    Responsibilities

    In this position you will be focused on supporting the recruitment strategy, including how we engage with universities and partnerships, hire talent and manage our programs. Duties will include: 

    • screening candidate applications, organising interviews and assessment centres;
    • managing candidate offers including all paperwork;
    • maintaining accurate candidate records in our applicant tracking system (ATS);
    • attending recruitment events such as career fairs and networking events throughout the year;
    • supporting with the successful running our talent programmes including our diversity programmes; 
    • providing ad-hoc administrative support for wider projects and initiatives as required; 
    • maintaining the calendar, ensuring all important dates are in diaries; 
    • co-ordinating social media and marketing activities as part of our attraction strategy; and
    • striving for continuous improvement of department administration including processes, procedures, and systems.

    Our Year in Industry placement is designed for students currently undertaking a university degree, providing an opportunity to gain practical experience alongside meeting academic obligations. This placement enables you to put your studies into practice within a professional setting, helping you to develop essential workplace skills.
