About the role

Since 1966, Max Fordham LLP has worked with the world’s leading architects on some of the world’s greatest buildings. From our offices in London, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and Bristol we have worked on projects across the country and around the globe. Our portfolio of completed lighting projects includes the Twist in Kistefos, the Stirling Prize-winning Magdalen College Library, Tate’s Britain and St Ives, the Museum at Silverstone and the Musée d’art de Nantes.

You could become a leading lighting designer working on some of the most prestigious projects in the UK as well as farther afield. This role will typically comprise designing architectural lighting and daylight for projects in the arts and culture sector as well as in workplaces and education, running lighting projects and modelling spaces.

You will learn to think about buildings in an integrated way as part of a team, considering both natural and artificial light and understanding how to make our projects use less energy. Integrated thinking will enable you to solve problems other approaches might not even find. It’s an exciting and satisfying way to work.

About you

The ideal candidate would be very creative and have an ability to sketch, draw and realise projects in an appropriate 3D modelling program. They would also be competent reading architectural drawings and have a degree relevant to the role with a minimum grade of 2:1 or above, or equivalent.
