    About your new role

    The Tendering Assistant (Major Projects) will support our growth in 33KV+ connections. With a proven track record of upgrading assets on the distribution network, we anticipate massive growth as we apply our expertise and experience to the private client market. We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual who is keen to develop their skills and drive into a career.

    The role will report directly to the Major Projects Tendering Manager, to assist with the delivery 33kV+ tenders in a timely manner whilst coordinating with the wider team to drive towards our sales revenue target for Major Projects (33KV+). The Tendering Manager will also assist with your development and, with frequent progression reviews and assistance to help shape your career as you see fit.

    Personal and social skills will also be imperative to this role, as communication will be frequent with external subcontractors and suppliers, as well as internal colleagues from several different departments. Establishing rapport and working relationships will be required.

    Computer and numeracy skills will be key to this role, with Excel proficiency being highly advantageous. The role will require

    Key responsibilities

    Assisting the Major Projects Tendering Manager and the wider team with:

    • Requesting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for tendering purposes
    • Inputting of quotes into pricing models.
    • Reviewing new enquiries from clients and deciphering client requests and needs
    • Understanding different DNO requirements and how these would impact pricing and project delivery
    • Keep up to date with current changes in DNO supply chains and approval
    • Upkeep of Administrative spreadsheets and reporting tools

    About you

    • Experience in tendering, cost building, or quote generation in the electrical / construction industry would be highly desirable.
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office programmes with good Excel knowledge.
    • Natural affinity for numbers.
    • Good with planning, time keeping and deadlines.
    • Happy to work collaboratively with different on multi-disciplined aspects of bid preparation
    • Ability to identify gaps in own knowledge and experience and willingness to learn and develop with support of the wider team
