    Our Buildings & Cities unit are seeking a Chartered Bridge Engineer to join our team in Birmingham and take a leading role in the delivery of bridges and civil structures projects in the Highway, Heavy Rail and Light Rail sectors. These cover the full spectrum of bridge engineering from the sustainable design of new structures to the application of advanced analysis for asset management. The scale of our projects ranges from small and bespoke design commissions through to some of the most significant infrastructure projects within the UK and worldwide.

    Some of our current major projects & clients include:

    • HS2 – Design of structures across the UK’s largest infrastructure projects.
    • Environment Agency – providing asset management services for structures across the UK.
    • Network Rail – Longstanding and trusted relationship both in the Midlands and nationally.
    • Local Authorities within the Midlands– providing both design and asset management services including advanced structural analysis for numerous local highways and transport authorities
    • National and international infrastructure projects in collaboration with the wider Mott MacDonald community

This will include technical input to projects and the further development of technical knowledge and capability within the bridges and civil structures team.

    Candidate Specification

    We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and driven engineer with the following:

    • Degree qualified in civil engineering (BEng/MEng, MSc or equivalent).
    • Chartered (or Incorporated) Engineer (ICE or IStructE).
    • Capability in bridge analysis and an understanding of engineering fundamentals.
    • Enthusiasm for bridge engineering, the construction industry and for change.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
    • Interest in business development.
    • Enthusiasm in developing the next generation of engineers
