You will join an established team of electrical engineers delivering a wide variety of design solutions for a range of clients across the energy sector. Typical projects include designs for electrical connections of renewables to the grid, protection and control designs for transmission and distribution substations and design of medium voltage substations and networks.

Projects can encompass all stages from concept to detailed design engineering. There are also opportunities to undertake site visits and surveys. We often work as part of our wider integrated project teams which will help your development by gaining an appreciation of how major multi-disciplinary projects, like complete new build transmission substations, are delivered.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

  • Electrical engineering
  • Physics

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

What you'll need

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
