As a graduate process engineer in the power, process and nuclear sector you will be responsible for design and assessment of process systems both within the UK and internationally. Our process and chemical engineering expertise provides a core discipline across new build and decommissioning projects, allowing our experts to develop appropriate, safe, and cost-effective designs and long-term sustainable solutions.

Your typical work will include:

  • Involvement in the project lifecycle on single projects, or portfolio of projects; from conception through to detailed design and decommissioning.
  • Preparing documents, reports, calculations and drawings.
  • Interpret and report on commercial and/or contractual aspects of projects with fellow professionals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technologies, technical engineering codes and practises, and take an advisory role in technical matters.

Oil and Gas (Croydon, Leicester) - chemical engineering and process engineering

Water and Wastewater Treatment (Edinburgh) - process engineering

As a water chemical engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and designing water and wastewater treatment systems both within the UK and Internationally and help to address the global need for clean drinking water and sanitation. Our chemical engineering expertise provides a core discipline for much of our work in the Water Industry, allowing our experts to develop appropriate, safe, and cost-effective designs and long-term sustainable solutions for many different types of projects. Our specialist chemical engineering teams have renowned expertise in clean and wastewater treatment design and assessment.

Your typical work will include:

  • Involvement in a single project, or small portfolio of projects, including wastewater and clean water treatment; from conception through to detailed design.
  • Preparing documents, reports, calculations and drawings.
  • Interpret and report on commercial and/or contractual aspects of projects with fellow professionals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technologies, technical engineering codes and practises and take a "hands on" role in technical matters.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Chemistry (for water treatment)
  • Process Engineering

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
