Soil, waste, chemical and specialist drainage systems alongside rainwater systems within building design are key to sustainability and reuse of blue and grey water systems.

Our graduate Public Health engineers are embedded into the building services design team involved in solving new challenges in digital and smart ways.

Our public health engineers play pivotal roles in designing and delivering sustainable solutions. By fine tuning operation while safeguarding resilience and durability, they are constantly working to get the most from both new and existing assets.

We have roles in the following building sectors

Transport

You’ll have the chance to work on rail and road developments alongside our transport team whose portfolio includes projects such as Crossrail, HS2, and the expansion of Heathrow and Stanstead airports.

Water

you’ll be working with specialists that have been involved in projects such as the Thames Tideway scheme in London and the Scottish Water development programme. Water is an essential part of our everyday lives, therefore our teams are responsible for water pumping solutions, clean and wastewater treatment plants, and pipelines.

Building Services

Our graduate building services engineers are responsible for the functional design which takes buildings from an empty shell to a functional space to live and work in. Our teams are responsible for ensuring that public health systems are robust, safe, economic, efficient, sustainable and “invisible”. health and safety requirements are key to a design – you can also apply via our dedicated Building Services Engineering career path.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

• Public Health Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics

• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
