To continue with our growth plans for 2024 and beyond we are searching for Commissioning Engineer Graduates to join our Professional Development Programme for our autumn 2024 intake, based in Brighton for our CMDP joint venture framework.

CMDP is a joint venture between MWH Treatment and Costain and will deliver a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & East Sussex).

What you'll do

Working within the engineering team you will support the design manager by providing assistance in the following;

  • Working as part of a site team, work methodically through the testing of electrical installations and installed equipment, setting up the equipment to treat water or sewage and verifying that the design has provided the correct level of treatment and functionality required by the contract (depending on original degree).
  • Contribute to development of solutions and suitable designs of Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants and/or sewerage/water systems that achieve the goals of MWH and our clients in terms of customer, environment, and efficiency.
  • Responsible for consistently high-quality work and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop or improve 3D models and solutions.
  • Support the wider MWH team in the drive towards excellence in Health & Safety, demonstrating applied knowledge & skills to produce safe construction sites and designs to discharge our obligations according to CDM Regulations, standards, and accepted codes of practice.
  • Proactively and reactively champion the need to deliver technical excellence ensuring the importance is understood and implemented across projects.
  • Maintain close links with other Engineers, Technical Managers and Operations to ensure smooth interfaces between disciplines, manage gaps/overlaps and share best practice to optimise performance.

About you

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering
  • Successful candidates will need to be flexible and willing to spend time in other offices and sites. This is to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients, which will provide fresh experiences and support your development.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently. You will be self – motivated, flexible and reliable with good problem-solving skills.
  • You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. Excellent computer skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.
  • Candidates will also need to have a full UK driving license or have the ability to make their own way to our sites and offices.
